After a ‘sold-out’ premiere at the Tron Theatre in Glasgow in June 2007, Gappad took RE-ID to Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and then to Govan International Festival, performing company’s first play 13 times within 5 months at 3 venues in front of both Polish and Scottish audiences.
Press cover included: The Herald, Metro, Sunday Times, Evening News, Glos Polski and several Polish and English web-portals.

RE-ID is a dual language (English and Polish) exploration of the effects of emigration on identity, using bold physicality and live music.
Since May 2004 hundreds of thousands of Poles have come to the United Kingdom chasing dreams of a new life. Facing a loss of their national identity and a transformation of their social identity, their personal identity is challenged, leaving them to ask:
How do I change myself when I change my home?
Faced with barriers they had not expected, they must re-evaluate their priorities. Do they return or re-identify?
Using the voices and visions of different Polish immigrants the play reaches beyond the stereotypes and asks uneasy questions about the connection between emigration and identity.

RE-ID Reviews:

'Re-Identyfikacja' - has an immediacy it's difficult not to engage with (…) touching performance but not without its humour.

The curtain-call saw Gappad garlanded with flowers (…) a lavish reminder of home that loses nothing in translation.
